Global warming and Climate change
Been in Sydney for 26 year but never experienced anything like the past month before, fires, smoke and the heat some days is fucking unbearable, just a hot dry summer or are Greta Thunberg and all the Activist types right and we are all fucked in the near future?

What’s the verdict from WHO?

No one mentioned global warming in 1976 during the drought.

It's just one of those things but very frightening for everyone out there.

"coldest temperature on record in Delhi"

Yes, i saw this but just like that Siberian weather front that his the UK a couple of years ago, "the beast from the east"

The climate change mob say this is all part of it???

The jury is out for me, but it does seem a bit odd that we both get record high temperatures and record low temps in different parts of the Planet.

I suspect it's all part of a much longer solar cycle - mankind's input to the mix is something like a 1,000th harmonic on that wave; brings the peak - or even a fake peak - forward by an amount that is noticeable in a human lifetime.

The real reason people are squealing is that they won't be dead when the bill arrives.

My Mrs has very good freinds who are among the people who fled to the beach at Mallacoota in Victoria. After visiting Aus several times its really easy to ser how a small bush fire can turn into a full scale blaze within minutes, truely scarey.

As for climate change being responsible,i have my doubts for a couple of reasons.

1. Its a very hot climate in a normal summer and they have they are experiencing a heatwave which isnt helping.

2. Bush fires have been happening over there since the dawn of time.

It’s hard-wired into to the human psyche to believe in our imminent destruction from an apocalyptic event. When have we ever not believed that something round the corner was just about to obliterate us unless we changed our evil ways?

Re: Global warming and Climate change
The main thing with this argument is that most people get weather and climate mixed up.
Two different things.

As someone who's been obsessed with weather for over 35 years or so, I took my first lightning photos around then there has been a change in 'Weather'
But also one contributing factor is theres more information now so extremes are reported whereas before they went unnoticed apart from for locals.

As for 'Climate change' the main thing for me is the mislabeling of this event, It should be called 'Raping, pillaging & Polluting the planet to within an inch of it's life'
If you break down the facts then the Earth is essentially a living organism, It breathes, moves and changes all the time and we drill into it, scar the crust, pump pollutants into the oceans and atmosphere, our main source of oxygen is the oceans which we are polluting 24/7.
You have to remember the troposphere is only 4-9 miles thick all around the planet and that's where most of the usable oxygen is and if you look at the amount of shit we put in it then there has to be a breaking point.
Plus chopping down trees at an alarming rate whilst there are more cars chucking out CO2 per year and less trees to filter it.

The trouble is most people don't care what shit they put into their own bodies so why should they care about the planet?

Happy new year!

Yes, been a big backlash here to have them stopped this year, its windy tonight as well!!!!

But money talks and its Sydneys night in the spotlight, a billon viewers worldwide, and cant let down the tens, if not 100,s of thousands of tourists here just for NYE.

Re: Global warming and Climate change
Very few of the people who push this really believe it. The ones who seemed to make the most noise are also the people flying all over the place to go to conferences where they can talk about how flying is going mean the few of us left will be living in caves in a few years time.

If you really, really believed in what you were saying when you talk about the imminent destruction of life as we know it, you probably would stop using cars and planes. Some of them do, not many though.

"2. Bush fires have been happening over there since the dawn of time. "

If those Aboriginals had cleared the land PROPERLY and built houses and motorways and stuff all over the place, instead of wandering about the whole time kangaroo-fucking, this would never have happened.

Lazy workshy bastards,

Stop dribbling nonsense, Muppet.

Governments, big business and above all the fossil fuel lobby determine how we rape the planet, not people who drive their car to work or get on a plane to go on holiday. Stop being suck a pathetic lackey and wake up.

Re: Global warming and Climate change
Its hot in the summer in Australia and they have a 'bush fire season'.
Except now its hotter and drier and the bush fire season starts a month earlier and will go on til March.
To be honest its too late to turn it around so they will just have to get used to 50 degree summers and the country being on fire.

Understand the Prime Minister is off on a coal sales junket in January so obviously has given up changing anything.
